I want to capture information about campaign associations as they are happening, and put them in custom fields, however, I cannot trigger an automation when a contact is associated with a campaign.
This is made esepcially difficult because I cannot copy the ‘most recent campaign association’ value in workflows.
Hi! Thanks so much for taking the time to write this up!
We’re currently running a private beta that makes Campaigns available as an object in workflows and adds contact-based enrollment when a contact is influenced by a campaign. That means you can use campaign properties (like name, status, dates, owner, budget/spend) directly in workflows, and you can trigger automation when a contact is “influenced” by a specific campaign.
@DKenny2 thanks for this. I joined the beta, but unfortunately the feature isn’t complete. I cannot pull any data from the triggering campaign into the automation, so i would have to create new workflows for every campaign, which isn’t scalable.
I’ve created a seperate suggestion for this, but workflows really isn’t useful until we can perform lookups across all objects and access all fields within those objects, like other CRMs.
I’ll create another feature suggestion to be able to across triggering campaign fields on a workflow triggered by a campagin…
If your goal is to use a workflow to make sure each contact is correctly linked to the campaign that influenced them, that linking will now be handled automatically in the CRM as part of this new private beta: HubSpot Login and Sign in
Once this is live in your account, you shouldn’t need a separate workflow just to maintain that association — the campaign influence data will be brought directly into the contact record.
If your use case is a bit different feel free to share more details and I can help think through the best setup.
