We’d like to hear your honest opinion:
Is promoting a work-life balance truly feasible in a startup environment, or is it a luxury that only larger, established companies can afford? --- This post was migrated from connect.com and was originally published at an earlier date.
I absolutely think this is a must. As a start up, the balance may not be so “balanced”, and I think if that is your expectation, you should declare it and be transparent about it. If you think you can eventually move to a better balance, define what the scenario would look like when that time has come so you know when you have arrived and can shift gears appropriately. If you don’t see yourself ever lightening up, own that and make sure others know that. They will resent you later if you don’t. If you need to have more hands-on, longer hours, set the expectation and ensure you offer something in return. Whatever that is may not equate to the time being given, but it is something to offset the sacrifice of others to help you as the founder grow your vision. Those staff are doing it FOR you. --- This post was migrated from connect.com and was originally published at an earlier date.
Aptly put. Thanks for sharing this valuable insight. --- This post was migrated from connect.com and was originally published at an earlier date.
