Which API returns Social Media data with integrations?

Hello HubSpot Community,

I’m working on pulling social media analytics data (likes, comments, shares, etc.) from HubSpot for our Facebook integration. I need to retrieve data on social media engagement and performance, specifically for posts that we’ve published via HubSpot’s social media tools.

Could anyone advise on which API endpoint(s) provide this type of social media data? I’m looking for:

  • Post IDs
  • Engagement data (likes, comments, shares)
  • Metrics specific to Facebook

Additionally, if there are specific scopes or permissions required to access this data through the API, I’d appreciate any guidance on that as well.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey @Anonymous

HubSpot collects post-specific data for the first 30 days after a post is published. Any data after the 30-day period will not appear in HubSpot. This includes:

  • Impressions
  • Likes
  • Reactions
  • Replies
  • Retweets
  • Shares

Hey, @Anonymous :waving_hand: To add on to the info @Gaurav_Aggarwal shared, there are a few Social Media endpoints, but they are now in a depreciated state. Meaning, they are stable, but will no longer receive updates. You can find them here.

Best,

Jaycee

The API you select will depend on the social media sites and what sort of data you would like to gain access to.

Most of the social networking websites offer their own APIs to get social media data and manage their integration. For example:

  • Meta Graph API for Facebook and Instagram data
  • LinkedIn API for professional network data and engagement metrics
  • X (Twitter) API for posts, mentions, and analytics
  • YouTube Data API for video and channel insights

For those who are in HubSpot, they can also use HubSpot APIs to retrieve social data which they synced and/or managed in HubSpot. This can be helpful in creating custom integrations or reporting solutions.

Before selecting an API, consider factors such as:

  • Available data and endpoints
  • Authentication requirements
  • Rate limits
  • Analytics and reporting capabilities
  • Compliance with platform policies

The best option ultimately depends on the social platforms you’re integrating with and the specific data you need to collect or analyze.
