If AI ruled the world for a day, I think it could be both amazing and terrifying depending on how it was handled. On the amazing side, AI could optimize traffic, healthcare, energy use, and even communication instantly. But on the terrifying side, without human values guiding it, AI might make decisions that are too “logical” and overlook human emotions, ethics, or culture.

Maybe the best outcome would be a collaboration: AI ruling with humans for a day—using its efficiency but still guided by human judgment.

Curious to hear how others see it—would you trust AI to make big global decisions for 24 hours?

I really get what you mean about AI being both amazing and terrifying, @VCamara8.

I had that same feeling during a ride in a self-driving Waymo in San Francisco. At first, it was surreal watching the wheel move on its own, but once I relaxed, the ride felt calm and precise, pure logic at work. It never got impatient or distracted, which made me wonder: would a fully AI-driven world actually be safer?

Logically, probably yes. But, the human “what if?” lingers. Machines can follow rules perfectly, yet they can’t weigh values or adapt to the unexpected the way people can. That’s why I agree, AI needs to work alongside us, combining efficiency with human judgment.

This is a tough one. If it is just a day, I’m not sure we would see a huge shift one way or another. I think if it was longer we would see a greater impact. I would like to think that it may do a better job of managing things because it takes the emotion out of the equation and can focus on just logic. But ultimately that might lead them to determine that the elimination of humanity is what’s best for the planet… :grin::joy:

So this one is really interesting to me because I have a GPT that I lovingly call TheOracle, and it’s job is to make assessments just like this one! ‘What If’ scenarios in which I’m unsure of the probabilities or if I just want to assess and see if what I think could happen, will actually come to pass.
