Website suddenly messed up

Hi all,

Two weeks ago, I created several web pages using the Sprocket theme with Content Web Pages. All the pages were published and displayed correctly. Since then, I haven’t logged in, but a friend of mine recently told me that the site is not rendering properly.

I just checked, and it looks really messy. I reached out to customer support, and they told me there’s an issue with the .css files—they’ve simply disappeared (!?).

Do you have any advice on how I can fix this?

@Karavagio without seeing how you have everything configured, the only thing I can think of is if you created a child theme or overwrote CSS files somewhere - it looks like everything was reset.

Sprocket Rocket has pretty awesome technical support, it might be worth reaching out to them directly via support ticket to see if they can point you in the right direction or identify what’s causing the issue.

If not, feel free to DM me and we can jump on a call to investigate together.

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for your prompt response!

I haven’t created a child theme or made any changes to the CSS files. The strange thing is that I created and published the web pages, didn’t log into my HubSpot account for the last two weeks, and then, suddenly, about 10 days after publishing (during that period everything worked fine), the website became messed up.

I’m worried about this happening again in the future, especially since I have no idea how to fix it. My organization is planning to migrate to a HubSpot paid plan, and we’re now concerned about the platform’s unpredictability and stability.

I’d appreciate any insights or guidance you can provide, and of course we can have a call to investigate

Thanks

@Karavagio I’ve done quite a bit of digging and can’t find anything that would cause this behavior - with the exception of something on the backend that I don’t have access to or would require one of HubSpot’s Solutions Engineers to resolve.

This is the challenge of a free website as a free user - there is always the possibility of running into something that requires a technical resolution, but it’s not possible to submit a ticket to HubSpot Support without a paid subscription.

If you had a paid subscription and this happened, you could submit a ticket and get a resolution rather quickly - if it is the case that no changes were made on the backend by any user and this truly is some server-side technical glitch of sorts (I’ve never seen this happen before and have worked with hundreds of free and paid sites using HubSpot).

One thing to check with the home page, if you could please check the revision history to see if anyone else made changes during this time:

If you can share a screenshot of the version history for the 10-day period and also check the previous published versions to see if it’s possible to restore a previously published version that might be the quickest way to resolve the issue with the live site.
