I am brand new to Hubspot. I look forward to learning how to get the most out of all this.
Right now I have what are probably two very basic questions.
I uploaded a csv file of trial contacts. Of what was probably 1500 or so contacts (yes, I should have started with a smaller file), 400 or so were successfully imported.
They were a mess, so I deleted them. Question 1:
Is there somewhere I could go to view what I’ve deleted, and then permanently delete them all, or did this process:
1. selecting these contacts,
2. entering the number of contacts in the box,
3. choosing yes, delete these;
effectively remove these contacts from Hubspot entirely?
Question 2:
How do I get rid of the entire csv file, or how do I get rid of the lines of errors (approximately 800 or so)?
I would like the trail of my failed attempt to disappear entirely. I’d like to get rid of the lines of errors, the csv account name, every single trace of the mess and start again.
If there is a better place for these questions, please let me know. I learn best through trial and error, I’ve learned quite a bit, but I’d like to remove all traces of this experiment and start again.
Thank you in advance.
Happy to help out here! It sounds like you’re hoping to review the contacts that you deleted from your import attempts. Is that right? If so, this article will help you review and restore any of those contacts from your recycle bin as needed.
The process you described in question one effectively deletes those records. The records will exist in your recycle bin for 90 days after being deleted. There would be no need to permanently delete them further. If you were to do another import any records with the same email address as deleted contacts would be recreated in that import process.
For your second question, are your referring to import history? If so, then there’s no way to delete the import history of your import attempts. Other customers have requested that here. You might consider upvoting and following this idea post to see if it gets roadmapped in the future.
If this is not what you mean, can your provide a screenshot of what you are referring to?
Thank you for your solution. Yes and yes. You understood my questions and provided the answers I was looking for.
Thank you.
I really do learn best by jumping in and making mistakes - it’s heartening to know that there is room here for this style of learning.
Your answer confirmed what I thought happened, reassured me that what I feared did not happen, and provided information about what I could do to request a feature that I might want.
