URL in middle column not clickable

For a client I made I’ve created a custom property that contains a hyperlink to an external system of theirs. When dealing with their contacts, they often need to use that.

In the left side bar, it is, as expected, recognized as URL and made clickable. However, when I add it in the middle column it’s not made clickable by Hubspot. Irrespective whether it’s added as data highlight or property card.

I’ve checked this in other objects and with other properties, including Hubspot owned, but it seems only domain name is clickable in the middle column in record customization.

Has anyone found a fix or workaround for this?

Hi @ArnoudBeckers,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community!

I believe that this is currently a limitation of the product (see relevant developer documentation here), but I’ll check internally and get back to you asap!

I wanted to invite a couple of HubSpot experts to this thread to see if they can think of a workaround:

Hi @jolle, @louischausse, @stefen, do you have any tips for @ArnoudBeckers? Thank you!

Cheers

Hi @ArnoudBeckers, following up on this:

I’ve heard back from our product team and this is indeed a limitaion of the customization feature at this time. Data Highlights does not render clickable links, and Property List only shows a clickable link for the domain property on company objects.

Thanks,

The University of Tampa also needs this functionality (clickable URL in the middle panel). We associate several related custom properties on a middle panel tab, and one of these is a URL to related documentation. Having to copy/paste a link into a browser is cumbersome, especially when the functionality exists in the left panel. We cannot put it in the left panel because it would get filled with too many properties.
