Tracking Landing Page Conversion

We use Hubspot landing pages however the call to action is to send them to an external link. As such, my landing pages all have zero conversions.

I know I can create individual CTAs that have the external link, but I would embed it multiple times on each page, which means the view stat is unreliable, so still no single source of truth of conversion. I suppose I coud do CTA clicks/page views but surely there is a more elegant solution?

Hi @Jo_edXpert

I might be missing something, but why do you have a CTA on a landing page that sends people somewhere else? Normally a CTA sends to a landing page, and by definition a landing page has a form to capture a submission/conversion.

Any particular reason why you don’t have form on your landing but a CTA?

Cheers

Frank

Hi Frank - because our goal is not to capture details this early in the customer journey, it’s to send them to our Course Advisor process (similar to a quoting tool), walk them through a needs analysis and then capture their details at that point.

The goal of the landing page is to get them to commence that process/click “Start Now”. At that point, the landing page has “converted”, and it sends the customer (with campaign specific UTMs) to the Course Advisor.

Hi @Jo_edXpert

I see, but technically that is not a conversion but a “referring” site.

In that case you should report on traffic from these specific UTMs and/or CTA clicks, but HubSpot will not show these as conversions in the landing page.
