Task Due Date Time

I do not like having a time associated with a task as my tasks are to be done in no certain order. I want there to be a way to go back to tasks without time but if needed for others to have time be optional. It makes some tasks look overdue when there is a time, that is not.

Hi there. I think it would be nice to have the default time to 12:00 AM. This way a task is due on that day and not a specific time. We don’t need all tasks set to 8:00 AM when we are just getting in the office, and especially NOT at 5:00 PM after our day has ended. No deafult time would be the best option. You should be able to just choose a day and select a time if needed.

Glad to see I am not the only one with issues on task times! Task time should be optional- not required- similar to the structure of emailed task alerts. When it comes to managing ones day, a good rule of thumb would be to allow for the functionality to be turned off or on. It seems like the team did not put any thought into this and simply made it a requirement. And the default of 5pm? What an odd time to select for a default!

Please change this back ASAP if possible. Thanks!

I agree that task times should be optional, not required. I think it would be nice to have the default time to 12:00 AM. This way a task is due on that day and not a specific time. We don’t need all tasks set to 8:00 AM when we are just getting in the office, and especially NOT at 5:00 PM after our day has ended. No default time would be the best option. Well, I think Hubspot is listening…and perhaps playing tricks on us. My tasks are now randomly assigning times of 12:00 am, 8:00 am, and 5:00 pm. I’ll set up tasks throughout the day and they could have any one of these three times assigned to them. I may set up a task that’s assigned 12:00 am, then the next might be 8:00 am, then the next few 5:00 pm. No logic to it that I can see and seriously annoying. There is the functionality for them to change the assigned time obviously…my preference would to have no time assigned, and I would assign it myself if I wanted to. Alternatively, I would vote for 8 or 9 am. There is likely no way to please everyone, but whatever they do it would be nice for it to be consistent.

Setting of the time on newly created tasks should default to 12:00 AM. When this is done, the time is dropped from the task and ony the date is displayed. Subsequently, if an actual time is needed for an event, meeting, etc, then a tiime can be entered when appropriate. This would clean up a lot of reports and would also indicate those tasks that are time sensisitve.

100% this is THE most annoying thing about using Hubspot. How it is that it is marked as ‘Solved’ and the answer from Hubspot is " I would reccommend working with your teams to ensure specific task times are met." LOL right-o

After reading the previous posts, this default time should be a custom field so that everyone can taylor it to its own needs.

I understand the point of view as a manager.

As an independent user, I prefer a default time setup at 5:30 pm, so that my day tasks don’t go overdue after 8:00 am, that is before I get to the office.

Many thanks for allowing everyone to custom that default time field.

Christophe

Along with many others here, I believe the forum contributors are all asking for the same thing.

Having the abilty to turn timed reminders on/off, and then being able to customise the default time, will save me and my team a considerable amount of effort.

Timed responses drives great behaviour regarding follow ups with customers.

Having the default set to 8am is just about the worst time for us, as the time zones we work in require this to be much earlier. The act of selecting an earlier time, each and every time we enter a task is really inefficient.

It’s hard to believe there is that much dev work involved in making this optional and user specified.

In an effort to make Hubspot better fit the needs of the users please fix this issue.

Only a small percentage of Hubspot users will take the effort to add a coment to this forum but it is my guess that a large part of the people that use task on a daily basis are in urgent need of this functionality an I am one of them.

Is there a place where users can add feature request? Maybe a +1 function on feature requests can help Hubspot prioritize new features.

Plus one for this feature. If anything, the default setting should be that the task becomes overdue at the end workday, if not completed. When you show up to work and have thirty tasks that you intended to be executed that same day, it’s not true that they’re overdue. It’s factually inaccurate.

So what is the rule of thumb for HubSpot to respond to these feature requests?

Do they sit here until enough people join the thread, or do they go into a weekly / monthly review by HubSpot?

I moved here bcz of the awesome current processes vs my old CRM, but would like to think their interaction with users results, at least, in someone from HubSpot joining the thread with feedback.

What is the experience of other, long term, users?

Thanks

we NEED this to make life sane

I totally agree! I’d definitely use this for all of my clients.

It would be nice if we could do our own default time for a task under our settings. That way everyone can have it specifically meet their needs. If it has to be the same for everyone, I would like it to default at 5:00 PM. I’m not fond of the “red text” the beginning morning showing that I’m already overdue :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, this is very annoying as I get a bunch of e-mails AND iphone app notifications every morning when I’m not even at work yet. And it’s a small inconvenience to change the task reminder time each time, but when you do this 20 times a day, each day, it really gets on your nerves.

This is 2 years on from when the original idea was submitted and still such a simple thing has not been actioned. Still on the fence about hubspot- lack of response around issues such as this do not help.

Agreed. This simple reuqest is one of our bigger frustrations.

+1. Really need the custom defaults (time, date, reminders) for the tasks

Would be great to have an option to not scedule the task to a specific time, pick only a day

Currently when a task is created on the task dashboard, the default time of the task “due date” is sent to 8:00AM.

It would be great if we could change this default time (ie: to 9:00AM) depending on business needs.
