We use a custom object that includes an image property (e.g., a thumbnail or product image). On the custom object index (list) view, this property can be added as a column, but only the URL/text is shown.
It would be extremely helpful if image‑type or URL‑to‑image properties could render as small inline thumbnails directly in table columns, similar to a gallery view. This would allow users to visually scan and identify records (e.g., designs, assets, SKUs, projects) much faster without opening each record.
Key needs:
- Ability to designate certain properties as “image/thumbnail” for index views.
- Render small, constrained thumbnails in table cells instead of raw URLs.
- Ideally configurable per view (turn thumbnail mode on/off for a given column).
Impact:
- Faster record identification and QA when working with visual assets.
- Better usability for teams managing images (creative, product, implementation).
- Reduces clicks and time spent opening records just to confirm the correct asset.
