Now that Custom Objects have the ability to dynamically create website pages, it would be a much better user experience if there was a property type for Image rather than having to copy and paste a file URL into a property value. Not only would this be a better user experience, it would make it much esier to update over time as things change.

I totally agree!
For the sake of completeness, the following asset properties should be addable to provide content heavy companies a solution for e.g. equipment testing databases etc.:
- Image with description and credit
- Video with description and credit
Something like the repeater form custom modules would be very helpful as well, to provide image or video galleries or mixed image and video galleries.
HubSpot does something like this for product images. Although the actual field is a single line text property, they somehow implemented a custom solution to use the filemanger UI to fill out the text url field with a selected file’s address. I’d even settle for this option with custom objects. Currently the file field doesn’t bring up the filemanager UI – just a system upload screen. In 2024 the file type property still doesn’t cut it.
Much needed HubSpot!
This is long overdue
Very surprised this hasn’t been implemented yet. Obviously HubSpot can do it, since it’s built into the Image URL Property.
HubSpot, it’s been a very common practice for a long time that Products generally contain multiple images on their product pages. They call it a gallery! And I’d like to implement one on my website using the Products Objects. This is wildly limiting.
Hey HS community,
I’m Sabrina and I work on HubSpot’s product team. We’re actively exploring how customers use and want to use image properties across HubSpot, and we want to make sure we’re building the right solution.
If you have a use case around image properties, whether it’s storing, displaying, or managing images as a field on records, we’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for folks willing to review early concepts and give us candid feedback before we build.
What this looks like:
- A 45-minute session (though we may not need the full time)
- We’ll ask about your use case and walk through some early designs
- No prep needed on your end
If interested, grab time directly on my calendar.
