Spreadsheet to a contact list?

Hello,

How do I pass a list of google spreadsheet to a contact list in my hubspot?

Thank you in advance

Hi @EMendez2,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community!

You’ll need to download your Google Sheet first in order to import the contact data into HubSpot.

The import tool in HubSpot supports all .csv, .xlsx, and .xls file types. If you click on File > Download in your Google Sheet, you’ll be able to select one of the supported file types.

Once you have your file, you can go to your HubSpot account > Contacts > Contacts > Import and follow the steps there. After the contact data has been successfully imported, you’ll see the new contacts in your contacts overview in HubSpot.

I hope this helps!

Cheers

Hello,

Thank you so much for your answer, it was really helpful! Nevertheless, I’m still trying to manage another problem, regarding sending an email to a whole list, and there seems to be a problem… Is there any possability that you could help through a short zoom meeting?

For an easy way to upload information from Google Sheets to HubSpot, you can also look into using external tools. I’ve been using one called Coefficient and one of their features allows you to export live data. It’s been great because this tool is quite simple to set up and I’ve found one of the highlights to be that it gives you a notification of whether the row was successfully exported.

Hi @victoriahcw, I hope that you are well!

Thanks a lot for sharing this integration with the HubSpot Community!

Do you have a link from the HubSpot Marketplace?

Also, do you have screenshots (without sensitive data) and steps to import contacts from a Google sheet into HubSpot via Coefficient to help @EMendez2, please?
Just as a reminder, we can import natively with a Google sheet into HubSpot, here are the resources for this:
- Set up import files
- Import records and activities

Have a great day and thank you!

Hi @victoriahcw For information, the HubSpot Community is a public space. I have therefore edited your content for security & confidential reasons.
Hi @BérangèreL! I hope you are doing well too.
Of course, here is the link from HubSpot Marketplace: HubSpot Marketplace . Here is a guide on how to set up exports to HubSpot: https://help.coefficient.io/hc/en-us/articles/21208963981595-Export-to-HubSpot

I’ve taken some screenshots below of how to create a new contact from Google Sheets to HubSpot but this will work for bulk contact lists too. The Contact ID was autogenerated and Coefficient will notify in the resulting columns to the right if there are any data validation considerations with a field being exported.

Once I refresh the import, it will show the new Contact ID in Column A. It only took a couple minutes to set up and complete the export.
Hope this helps!

Hi @victoriahcw and thanks so much for all the details and information!
Just to clarify, when you import new contacts into HubSpot, it is HubSpot who auto-generate the Record ID. It can only be auto-generated by HubSpot.
If you are importing existing contacts, you’ll need to first export the contacts from HubSpot, then update the document and then import using these same Record IDs that you exported.
Thank you and have a great weekend!

You can manually export the Google Sheet to CSV and import it into HubSpot, but that’s a one-off. If you want it to sync automatically, Skyvia (HubSpot & Google Sheets - Integrate and Sync - Skyvia) can connect Google Sheets to HubSpot and keep your contact list updated on a schedule.
