Is there a way for non-technical users to use the standard link editor to add a sms number? Or is the only option adding it through the text editor source code?
When trying to use the standard link editor, it produces an error. I am assuming due to Hubspot not seeing it as a valid url.

Yes for most non-technical users, the standard link editor in HubSpot often rejects links because it validates entries as traditional URLs The workaround is usually to add the SMS link directly in the source code or HTML module using the proper format:
@kim533 I suspected that this would be the only answer but was hoping for a possible alternative solution. Having some non-technical users modify HTML code is going to be a big ask. I feel like links that begin with tel: or sms: should be considered valid urls.
