We don’t have a website associated with our hubspot account, but we want to send a link via SMS. Hubspot automatically modifies links and makes the link look incredibly suspicious. It’s also longer than the link we hoped to send! To send a “branded link” we have to connect a domain to our hubspot account and I really don’t see why.
Maybe there’s something technical in SMS messaging that I’m missing, but it seems ridiculous that Hubspot has no ability to turn the link modification “feature” off. I’d even accept being able to send a text version of the link, but it detects that and still subs in a bogus hubspot link.
Contacted support and didn’t get an explanation for why the only way to send a reasonable looking link is to connect a domain.
