Slack message for new leads

Hi we have various slack messages that go to a global inbox. Almost all of them have a button “view in hubspot” in the slack message itself. All except for our leads messages. Is this a lead specific lack of feature, or am I missing setting something up.

I really want that view in hubspot button for this use case.

The “View in HubSpot” button may not appear for lead messages if it’s not configured in your Slack-HubSpot integration settings. Check the integration setup for leads specifically or update your workflow to include this feature. Contact HubSpot support if the option isn’t available.

The sales workspace is still a fairly new addition. I’d recommend pointing this out to the product team in the HubSpot Ideas section of the community: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/idb-p/HubSpot_Ideas

In any case, you can build your own link (it’s not a nice button, yes, but it’ll still take you into the CRM).

  1. Open any lead in the sales workspace and copy the URL from the address bar, it should look like this: https://app-eu1.hubspot.com/prospecting/YOUR_PORTAL_ID/leads/view/open-leads?leadId=ID_OF_THIS_LEAD
  2. Add this link to the body of your Slack notification and replace the last bit, ID_OF_THIS_LEAD with a personalization token for the record ID

I haven’t checked if this actually resolves into a link or just plain text (which would require the additional step of copying and pasting into the browser’s address bar) but it’s still a quicker way into HubSpot than not having anything at all.

Give it a try – and I’m sure HubSpot will look into the button sometime soon.
