Hey there - would be great if we could skip steps for individual contacts within a sequence. It’s a capability that other similar tools have, and I found it very valuable!
I didn’t even know this wasn’t possible, this is essential on the roadmap!
yes, this is much needed feature. Currently the sequencing feature that Hubspot provides lacks in many features compared to the other compeititors in the market.
It’s so frustrating not being able to do this, makes personalization that much harder. It’s a one button feature and should’ve been implemented long ago (along with the UNDO button). PLEASE develop this asap

1000% need the option to either skip steps OR move them to a different step as needed.
This is a fundamental motion in any quality prospecting software and a huge blocker. Any competitor (Outreach, Salesloft, Gong) 100% has had this ability, I think since inception.
I load up and start 10 Tasks. They’re all calls that are in the middle of a Sequence. On the second Task, I’m unable to find a suitable phone number. How is there not an option to say “progress this Contact to the next Step in their Sequence” without marking a Task as completed that you didn’t complete?!
What’s the workaround you guys have been doing? I’m a bit stuck with it too

I 100% agree this feature is a necessity!
Not that this is by any means a solution, but in the case of not being able to find a suitable number, you CAN complete the task to move ahead in the sequence, then change the task status back to incomplete.
This will keep the sequence moving and leave the task incomplete. It’s tedious, as workarounds tend to be, but it is possible.
100% agree as well.
Although not perfect, another workaround is to setup a workflow that automatically enrolls a contact with a known phone # into a separate calls-only sequence to run in parallel to the main sequence.
It doesn’t really speak to timing of calls with emails, nor does it give you the ability to pause Contacts until a call is made.
I still need this.

You can skip the sequence individually by going into the contact, finding the activity “sequence activity” , and actions more on that activity - edit sequence. Change timing for today and click complete bit of a work around.
wow. this is a fundamental capability that I never expected would be a gap with Hubspot. shocking!
This is easily accomplished if you use specific Task titles when setting up the sequence. Click CRM>Tasks. Type the name of your task in the search bar. Select all the tasks in the sequence you want to skip then click “Mark as Complete” or “Delete.” Should go on to the next step of the sequence automatically from there.

At this time there are no plans to build a dedicated step-skipping feature. That said, you can delete the task for a specific step, or mark it as complete, which will move that contact to the next step in the sequence.
If anything changes on our end, we’ll update this thread.
