Hi there- looking for how to set the default font when creating templates and snippets. I know how to set the default font global and it says “this default will apply to outgoing emails from the CRM email editor for all users of this account.”
The problem is if we set the default font to black and the template default is gray then we are having glaring formatting issues when using the templates we are also typing into.
Hi @LThoms,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community!
It’s great to see all the research you have made and thanks for sharing it!
So the issue is with the formatting of an email, right?
Could we see what it looks like please?
The more info, screenshots (without sensitive/confidential information), and details you can provide, the better the Community can assist.
I also wanted to invite a couple of subject matter experts to this conversation @AdamLPW, @Phil_Vallender and @Alex_Elborn do you have any suggestions to help @LThoms on this please?
Also, if anybody else has anything to add and/or share, please feel free to join in the conversation
Thanks and have a beautiful day!
Best,

Looking at the other ticket you’ve linked to, I don’t know that these are EXACTLY the same thing.
One way of addressing the issue would be to have the global default text styles also influence templates (etc) but I would be just as happy at the moment to be able to control the default template styles separately. As long as I can control them. At the moment, I can’t work out how to set the default styles for templates. If I could, I could match them to the global default styles. I’m happy to control them separately but at this point can’t work out how to do that.
Hi @Coopers_Sales, I hope that you are well!
Thank you for your message.
I’d then recommend posting in our Developers Forum here to see if this can be achieved with custom code.
Thanks and have a great day!

To illustrate, I’ve created a conversation template with two lines of text. The first line is the default font and the second line is the same thing, but with the font color set to black.
To be clear, the issue is not to do with CRM emails, but rather, conversation templates. In fact, the issue is most noticable when you use a template within a CRM email where the default colour for your CRM emails is black, but the conversation template default font colour is dark grey (and we can’t work out how to change that).
Hi @VLawrance and @LThoms,
Thanks for asking the Community!
If you’d like that the account default fonts apply to templates, for the moment, there is no native option for this.
I have found this similar idea already submitted: “Sales Hub Font and Type Size for Templates and Snippets Don’t Honor Account Default”.
I’d recommend supporting the Idea with an upvote and explaining your use case in the comments. Our product team uses that forum to collect ideas on how we can improve the product for our customers.

I’d like to ask our Top Experts about this topic: Hi @Josh, @Jnix284 and @ChrisoKlepke do you have workarounds or tips to help @VLawrance and @LThoms, please?

Thank you very much and have a great day!

Ihave upvoted in the places listed in this thread. They go back years! This is one of my top frustrations as I am the “template maker” for our company and it is more than frustrating. Especially b/c the default font is not very professional.
I’ve also noticed that when I add a personalization the font sometimes defaults back and I have to play with it to get it to “stick” to my font.
Extremely disappointing that this hasn’t been resolved when it can be set for email communication.
@KReed4 completely understand your frustration - I saw there was an update on Dec 11 for the Conversations inbox to set a default font, I’m hopeful they will extend this further to templates and snippets.
I could not agree more. Despite my best efforts, and no matter how good my emails look in the compose. You click send and the receiver gets what looks like a ransom note. It’s totally unacceptable and unprofessional. How do people put up with this?
