Hi all,
Im Andreas and my organization has recently onboarded HubSpot for the purpose of Marketing Communications.
I have a question that id really appreciate your input.
Can i use the Marketing Hub (Mass emails) to cover Sequence needs?
Thank you,
Andreas
Hi @AVasileiou,
Sequences and marketing emails behave differently. Sequence emails are sent from the connected personal inbox of a user, marketing emails via a connected company email domain. Since email service providers evaluate mass emails much more critically than one-to-one emails, deliverability rates are typically lower with marketing emails than with one-to-one sales emails and that includes sequences: Manage your email authentication
Generally, yes, you can send marketing emails to contacts that you would otherwise enroll in a sequence. You’re simply using another infrastructure to send the emails and that affects deliverability.
Keep also in mind that sequences have automatic unenrollment. When someone replies, books a meeting etc, a contact leaves the sequence automatically. This is not by default the case for automated marketing emails in workflows. They can be set up to behave accordingly but they’re not doing it out of the box: Unenroll contacts from a sequence
Lastly, consider that HubSpot automatically populates certain tracking information in your CRM. If you’re sending sales content via marketing emails, HubSpot will attribute this as a marketing touchpoint, not a sales activity. It might be a nuance but could throw off you’re reporting, if you’re planning on relying on activity tracking.
Best regards!
Thanks for your rapid response.
The reason im asking such a question is because the company I work for does not want to allow individuals to add “personal” emails with the company domain at the end. Hence why im looking for alternatives.
We are have invested in the Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub and in general all the services that HubSpot has to offer.
If we where to use the Marketing tool as the Sequencing tool, what should we look out for? What are the cons and other than the ability to set sequences, what else would we miss out on?
Kind Regards,
Andreas
Hi @AVasileiou,
I’ve pointed out the major differences, advantages and disadvantages in my previous reply – is there anything you need clarification for?
Best regards
