Currently, HubSpot only allows admins to control Edit permissions at a broad level - users either have full edit rights (including bulk edit) or no edit rights at all for tasks.
Business Problem: Our sales team needs to update task due dates individually, but we want to prevent them from bulk editing tasks. We’ve observed team members bulk-updating overdue tasks to future dates without taking action, which impacts lead follow-up quality and distorts activity reporting.
Current Limitation:
- Bulk Delete can be disabled separately
- Bulk Edit cannot be disabled - it’s tied to general Edit permissions
Requested Feature: Add a separate toggle for “Bulk Edit” permissions (similar to the existing “Bulk Delete” toggle) for each CRM object (Tasks, Contacts, Companies, Deals, Tickets).
This would allow administrators to:
- Let users edit records one-by-one ✓
- Block mass updates to prevent data manipulation ✗
Use Cases:
- Sales teams managing task follow-ups
- Preventing accidental mass property overwrites
- Maintaining data integrity while allowing individual record management
