I am looking for a work around for being able to see what queued up emails are waiting to be sent from a workflow in the contact screen. I want to be able to see that there is an email waiting while I am looking in a specific person’s contact.
Can this be done through making a task with a “this email was sent, the next one is waiting, the third one is waiting” type thing?
This can unfortunately not be done with tasks, no, as workflow can currently not close tasks.
In general, HubSpot does not have a way to see directly which emails are queued up. One of the reasons is that workflows have branching logic, exclusion and suppression rules and criteria for an email send can change all the time, such as subscription status, marketing contact status, or a bounce from a regular email. This preview of upcoming emails would have to be dynamic and ever-changing and I guess HubSpot hasn’t gotten around to implementing anything like that.
The product team reviews these based on their popularity.
As far as workarounds go, you can always check workflow membership of a contact in the right sidebar and then check what’s in store for that contact by reviewing the workflow details page: Understand your workflow details page
It’s probably not as immediate and visual as you would like, but that’s where you can see that information, in combination with reviewing the workflow steps and using the workflow test feature to see which path a contact would currently go.
