my previous martketing tool used Saleforce reports as the source for email list. This approach was quite simple and elegant. In Hubspot, I cant use formula fields or have access to related objects. As a results, I am forced to create a flow to populate new fields simply to gain access to the values for the email list. THis is 10x more complicated!! Also, I have to sync the object for making a change on the salesforce side. Is this everyone’s expereince that integrates with salesforce?
Am I missing something?

Hi, I am actually referring to lists, not reports. While my previous email marketing tool used reports for lists, hubspot relies on the sync of data into a hubspot object. Unfortunately hubspot does not recognize formula fields or related objects. The only way I can gain access to the field I need is to populate it with a flow. For example, a custom object named community group has a lookup to a contact object as a related object. Hubpost would only have the ID value but not the value in need. Again, using a salesforce report as the source of a email list is simply way way easier.

There is a round about way to accomplish this with SF and HubSpot. It might make life a little easier. First you’ll need to utilize campaigns in Salesofrce. Create a campaign and ensure that it’s active. Then build your report in Salesforce. Once your report is built use the Add Campaign membmers button from the report builder. Once they are a part of the campaign you can build an active list in hubspot. Under contact properties you can find salesforce campaign IDs. From here you can choose the campaign you’d like to use for your list.
It takes a few steps to setup, and might be a bit of a pain for one off email lists but for your standard email lists that you want to add contacts from SF to often this might be a bit easier then manual imports.
