Could you help me out with the Salesforce x Hubspot selective sync?
The goal is to create / update leads and contacts from Salesforce to Hubspot, but only with specific filters (e.g. Lead Source = Event and Lead/Contact Source not blank or Sales generate).
I have been following this article from Hubspot: Salesforce Selective Sync and I had a call with Salesforce support to confirm the details are OK.
Where I am lost is the filters setting on what is actually passed on from Salesforce to Hubspot. Some say it should be done in Salesforce Sharing Settings - I have done that, but still does not filter our what we do not wish to see in Hubspot. Some say it supposed to be done in Hubspot, but I cannot find any information on that in settings.
If you could help sort the issue, I would most appreciate it!
You’re referencing the right doc for your scenario. Here’s where I think you might have some confusion.
The selective sync filters are set on the Salesforce side. This is essentially saying, regardless of how data properties map from one system to the other, these are the record types that we want to pass from the Salesforce side to the HubSpit side. Here’s an example of that from the documentation:
As stated in the docs, these should be set for the selective sync to work most effectively.
The other element that you would want to understand is how the individual properties from these records map between the two systems. That is also handled on the HubSpot side. There are additional settings as to which data you should prefer (always prefer SFDC, always prefer HUBS, use updated most recently, etc.).
It seems like you might be on the right track, but just have a couple of minor updates to get it working.
If you already have a grasp on those things and it’s still not working, check your integration user settings and permissions (also in the docs). There could be something off with those.
