Sales targets

I have asked Hubspot help, but just keep getting sent articles, which I had already read.

* We would like to create “Sales targets” for each salesperson.

* These targets are “Number of Deals Won”, not revenue etc. Actual Sales won.

* We would then like to see their sales targets against what they have sold this Month / quarter / year on a dashboard / report

Can this be done please? Thank you

@NWoodward this is definitely possible.

You can track these goals using reports. You may need more than one report to track and visualise these goals due to the way HubSpot reports work!

As a starting point, I’d use the Sales Analytics tool, go to the Sales Outcome on the left hand menu, and click into the ‘Deal revenue by source’ report. This will show you the closed won deals for each sales rep, and you can adjust the date range too. You can save this report to the dashboard, look at the top right corner.

You can also create a deal leaderboard report. If you create a report from scratch, use the properties ‘deal owner’, and ‘count of deals’ it’ll show you the number of closed deals per rep. The annoying thing is you can’t add a goal to this report.

For the set up of a goal report, I’d suggest creating a single object report from scratch, and using these properties (I’ve removed the data from my report for privacy):

Hope this helps!

Thank you for this Alice, I will take a look

I was looking at this and was hoping to be able to use Goals to to track the number of won deals per rep. Is that possible? Or is there a way in reports to track actuals against goals when the reps have different goals?

Hi @candijsmith

Great question — tracking deal volume against individual rep targets is a really common use case, and the distinction between Goals vs. reporting can get confusing.

I’d like to loop in a few Community members who are very familiar with Goals and sales reporting nuances.
@Alice-WXAgency @SanjayKumar @HubBubDotXYZ — hope you’re all having a great week! Can you clarify whether HubSpot Goals can be used to track number of Closed Won deals per rep, and how teams typically handle reporting when reps have different targets? Any product-accurate guidance or recommended reporting setups would be super helpful here.

Looking forward to your insights.
Victor

Hi @candijsmith. I’m jumping in here since the thread’s been quiet and I checked the available HubSpot documentation for you.

Yes – you can get to “deals won per rep vs target” with a mix of Goals + reports.

On Sales Hub Enterprise, set up a custom Deals goal that counts deals where the deal stage = Closed Won, assigned per Deal owner or team. That gives you a live “# of closed‑won deals per rep.”

To compare against targets:

  • For revenue quotas, use Forecast/Goals for per‑rep revenue goals, then the Quota attainment report in Sales Analytics to see closed revenue vs each rep’s goal.
  • For a pure deal‑count view, build a Deals report (X‑axis: close date, Y‑axis: count of deals, broken down by Deal owner) and add a Goal/reference line so you can see deals won vs that owner’s target on one chart.

Hope this helps!
