Thanks so much for your reply. Redirecting to a thank you page is great but the user could copy-paste the “thank you page” link and send it to his colleagues which would bypass the form entry for these colleagues.
But I guess the same would apply if I protect it by a password. The password could be shared…
So maybe there is no way around it.
On some websites, I saw this overlay popup with no escape besides closing the tab or going back. I found it great because even if you share the link, everyone would have to fill out the form as the popup trigger is cookie-based.
Correct, if they want to, they’ll always find a way.
I don’t think it’s worth overthinking this. If your content is shared more widely, that’s a success. Even if you can’t capture the information of all of the people who read it.
In the end, the content you’re offering is not the last step in your buyer’s journey. By adding clear CTAs to your content, you can steer contacts into the direction of filling out another, more qualified form (for example to talk to sales, request a consultation, get a demo etc.).
If you’re working with a thank you page, I’d keep an eye on the views of that page compared to the submissions. As long as thank you page views are lower than the number of submissions, there isn’t any need to worry.
