Hello community,
I’m wondering if it’s possible to specify quantity unit for products?
For example if I’m selling flour I might want to sell it at 5$ / kilogram
But if I’m selling butter I might sell it for 10$ / packet
Any way to do this by default?
I believe the easiest way to do this and communicate it effectively to potential buyers would be to simply include the unit of measurement in the line item name.
For example: Flour (1 Kg); Butter (1 Packet)
Theoretically you could also create a custom product property of ‘Unit Type’, but that would mostly be for internal use, as it’s not currently possible to add custom product properties to quotes – but it is planned for the future according to HubSpot.
Would it be possible to do a custom property for products and then include it within a quote template like {{ product.unit }}?
Yes, that is possible and would be achievable through a Line Item personalization token on your quote. You could insert it within a rich text module (terms, etc.) on your quote.
However, from how I understand your question, I’m not sure this would really provide you the value you’re looking for. It would simply be a cosmetic addition, which might help if you want to put the unit in rich text somewhere other than directly next to the actual unit, but otherwise, wouldn’t change the pricing in any way.
