Hi, has there been anything set up in the product library that will help with access to folders? We would like to create a folder that only Managers can see not our sales staff as it is artwork that we are getting ready, and should not be looked at, is that possible?

I am very surprised this has not been set up, surely some companies create products that are not ready to be released yet, that are kept in an access-only folder. We have artwork that we are working on and is not ready to be sold, we do not want our sales guys to see it yet, but they will look through all the folders in Product Library to get a heads up and we can not do anything about it, if we could have a folder that we can limit accesability this would help us greatly.

Great idea Louise.

Products have just been migrated over to the new Sales > Products where you can create views, which are much more flexible than folders.

“However” that doesn’t solve your problem of hiding products in a staging area before they are published to the sales team.

As an unofficial workaround what I would do today is:

  1. Use a HubSpot Developer account (or create one if you do not have one)
  2. Create a test account and invite only those people who work on products not yet ready for sale.
  3. Install a free plugin like DoCurrencies in the portal so it updates daily and doesn’t expire.
  4. Use the HubSpot test account for all your draft products
  5. Add a custom property for product status, such as “Draft” and “Published”
  6. When ready to publish, use automation such as Zapier or custom code to trigger and copy the “Published” products into your live account.

Just until HubSpot readies a hidden-products folder :slightly_smiling_face:
