Essentially, the ‘App Marketplace’ permission we see in User Permissions really only controls the “connect app” button on a Marketplace listing. If the user has this permission, then they are able to then click on the install button, if not they will see “request to install.”
The problem is the one exception: if the actual installation happens outside of the Marketplace, then the App Marketplace permission no longer controls the installation of the app. It’s outlined in KB document: Users without this permission will be able to install apps from third-party websites as well as email integrations, calendar integrations, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
It would be nice to completely prevent users from installing third-party anything to a portal.
@NicoleJ I checked out the article you referred to and I couldnt find the paragraph you outlined above. I’m actually looking to do the reverse - I want users to be able to install “personal” integrations like mail integrations, calendar integrations, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, without being able to install/uninstall account wide integrations. Is that in fact possible, based on what you wrote?
I don’t even want some of my users accessing the Hubspot Marketplace. I want the icon removed when they don’t have permission to access it. This idea could be applied across other icons and menus in Hubspot. If a user doesn’t have access to Sales or Marketing, why does it even show up in the Navigation menu!?!?!
Very much this: somewhere somehow each rep now needs to have full Marketplace access to be able to set up the Hubspot App for Zoom Meetings, but we don’t want to do that, because then they will install whatever they want.
We need either:
* This app to just be able to be installed by a rep
* Or, blanket install on behalf of the rep
* App itself needs changing to not needing the rep to do it
* Marketplace access to be so that we can define what apps they can install
