Before HubSpot redesigned the record interface a few years ago, users could tab through fields, update multiple properties in one pass, and then click “Save” once to commit all changes. That workflow was fast, efficient, and reduced the chance of unintentionally saving typos or incorrect information.
With the current interface, changes are auto-saved immediately, and it’s no longer possible to tab sequentially through editable fields. Instead, each field has to be selected individually before it can be edited. While removing the Save button eliminated one click, it introduced many more clicks and interrupts the natural flow of updating a record.
Overall, the new experience feels less efficient. Bringing back keyboard navigation between fields would improve usability.
