Personalization Tokens in Custom Code Templates

I want to create a custom code template for emails that look like they are just being sent from someone’s inbox, but I want to still be able to insert personalization tokens into them.

Is that possible?

I can’t see a way of hard coding them into the template or using a module that can be edited when an email campaign is created using the template, and inserting it that way.

You should be able to add personalization tokens to the template manually, as described here.
