Hi all,
We use DepositFix to integrate our payment system (PayPal) to Hubspot for registrations to program our organization provides. (It basically mirrors our Hubspot forms to connect the two platforms the the payment function.) The problem is that Depositfix is not able to capture subscription consent opt ins via the Data Prviacy features on forms.
The workaround to this is to use single-checkbox categories and do the subscription via opt-in. However, because of the way we’ve managed the system in the past, many people cannot be opted in via workflow because they ahve been previously unsubscribed.
We’re exploring having a two-setp proceses (like a Hubspot form with all non-financial data then a follow-up form--or links to payment in the Thank you for registering" section after the “Submit” button) but would like the process to be as user friendly as possible.
Any workaround ideas from Hubspot? Or, Does anyone know of any alternatives to Depositfix that can capture subscription opt ins? Any help would be very greatly appeciated!!
Thanks!
Hey @jessfspring - thanks so much for posting in the Community!
I’m not personally aware of a workaround here, but I’d like to tag in some Community experts who may have experience that would provide a possible solution. @danmoyle, @GeorgeBThomas, and @Alex_Elborn - any thoughts here?

Hi @jessfspring,
This would be the clean way to go about it:
We’re exploring having a two-setp proceses (like a Hubspot form with all non-financial data then a follow-up form--or links to payment in the Thank you for registering" section after the “Submit” button) but would like the process to be as user friendly as possible.
HubSpot’s restriction that opt-outs can’t be overridden with workflows / via API / user input can’t be bypassed in a sensible way. Since the API route is blocked that also affects integrations and any other integration you find will likely have the same challenge.
Technically, the only option is simulating an additional form submission on behalf of the contact, using HubSpot’s form subscription checkboxes. It’s not something I would recommend, I’m just mentioning it here for the sake of spelling out all options.
The two-step process is, I think, the cleanest solution for now.
Best regards
Thank you! That’s helpful to know its likely a prob that would appear with other providers. I think we’ll try the two step process!
