Pages API v3 not pulling in default module values

Hello,

I have a module with default value set which I’m trying to pull in via pages API. Here is what the populated field looks like by default when you create a page:

When accessing the page properties from the pages v3 API, this value does not come through the module:

However… if I manually go into the module and make an update to the field (e.g. add a space) and re-publish the page, then this value appears in the API:

This is a two parter question:

  • Is there any reason the API is not respecting the default value set in the module?
  • Does anyone have a recommendation on getting this to update for pages already published? I’m looking to avoid going back to pages and manually updating the field each time to get the value to show.
