Note Body in Dashboards

Why can’t we see the “note body” in dashboards without all of the formatting code around it? Has anyone figured out a fix for this?

Hi @amywill01. I love this question. It’s the first time someone has asked it that I’ve seen. Have you posted this in the Ideas community? If others want this and upvote it, HubSpot will see the popularity of the feature and may add it to their plans. I’ve seen it happen.

Question for you on this - which Notes would you put into a report and onto a dashboard? Recent notes in a contact or company? Specific keywords for the note? I’m curious about your use case for this.

Hi @amywill01,

Other users have requested this before, you can find an explanation on this behavior here:

“the “Notes” field is a rich text field that can include pictures, lists, arbitrarily long text, etc., and it’s all stored as HTML on the backend of the platfotm. In the rest of the app, wherever the notes are displayed, the HTML is rendered and the user sees a list, an image, etc. However, within the reports, we do not render HTML and instead fall back to just displaying the raw code like we are currently seeing here.”

Under the same link, you can also upvote the request for this to be changed. I’d recommend both upvoting and commenting. The product team reviews these requests based on their popularity. I also just upvoted it.

Best regards!
