Our sales team has two sub-teams, the BDRs and AEs.
Currently, in Hubspot I have everyone on the “Sales Team” as their primary team, and on the appropriate subteam (“AE Team” or “BDR Team”) as their secondary team based on their position (both of these subteams are nested under the Sales Team).
My issue with this is that I can’t use the secondary teams to filter (due to how hubspot has secondary teams set up). In an ideal world, I want to be able to filter by the sales team as a whole and also drill down into the two subteams. I have tried making the subteams the primary team and setting the Sales team as the secondary team, but then these users don’t show when I try to filter by the Sales Team.
Has anyone else run into this? What was your solution?
Hi @acarbonneau,
Have you considered doing the opposite, AE/SDR as primary team, Sales as secondary? That would still make it easy to filter for sales by simply selecting both AE+SDR.
As far as other workarounds go, I’m not aware of any that provide the features associated to teams.
Other users have requested better options before:

These requests submitted to the HubSpot Ideas section of the community are reviewed by the HubSpot product team, based on their popularity and the assumed demand. I’d recommend commenting and upvoting.
You can also help other HubSpot users find this request more easily (and drive traction) by accepting my reply as a solution. I’d appreciate it, too.
Have a great day!
Thanks @karstenkoehler, I do think using the subteams as primary might be the solution for now, but I’m excited to hear that multi-team membership is something in the works, I’ll for sure check out that thread.
