Meeting Reminder Timezone Default

What determines the timezone for automatic meeting reminders? Is it the timezone of the person who books the meeting?

In this case I was surprised to see IST when I am the meeting organiser in BST (GMT+1)

Booked originally via a form:

then new time proposed and accepted

If I look at Sales > Meetings > Scheduling > Additional Settings I see

…so can we, with some confidence, say the booked of the meeting was in IST?

The thing that gets me is that I was ‘sure’ they were in the US… but can’t be 100%.

Any clues appreciated.

Hey @DBrazil, thank you for posting in our Community!

In HubSpot, the timezone for automatic meeting reminders is typically determined by the timezone settings associated with the meeting itself or the timezone preferences of the meeting organizer.

To our top experts @TomM2 and @Jnix284 do you have any recommendations for @DBrazil matter?

Thank you,

Pam

Hi @DBrazil I haven’t run into this discrepancy before, even when I was booking calls globally - our HS account was Central European Time (CET), I’m US Central Time (CDT/CST) and had clients all over the globe, including India.

I’m curious how you received a meeting reminder for your own meeting? That usually only goes to the attendees, not the meeting owner.

The timeline record doesn’t usually show that detail, only the record of the transactional email:

Just trying to understand where you got the screenshot showing IST as the timezone so I can try to recreate it.

My invitee received the reminder notification and then replied to me so I
saw it in the thread and was surprised.
If it is an erroneous timezone the reminder can only cause confusion.
Thanks

@DBrazil in that case, I can confirm that your attendee is in the IST timezone, all attendees receive localized updates when you use their browser date/time format - this makes it easy for your user to find a time that works for them without having to convert time zones.

Many thanks

you’re welcome @DBrazil, happy to help!
