I’m thinking the best approach is to create two custom properties:
Meeting Lead Source (Dropdown) → To track where the meeting came from.
Options: Event, Web Lead, General Prospecting, Ref, Inbound Demo, Partner Ref, etc.
Meeting Type (Dropdown) → To categorize what kind of meeting it was.
Options: Intro Call, Follow-up, Proposal Review, Technical Deep Dive, Negotiation Call, etc.
These would be Activity-level properties (since meetings are logged as activities in HubSpot), so reps can easily select the right info when logging a meeting.
For reporting, I’d set up a custom report filtered for:
Activity Type = Meeting
Meeting Lead Source is known
Date range (if needed)
And then pull in columns for:
Meeting Lead Source
Meeting Type
Owner (Sales Rep) (if I want to break it down by rep performance)
From there, I could throw it into a pie chart for meeting source breakdowns or a bar chart to see trends in meeting types over time.
Thank you! Could you provide a few steps on where exactly to create those two drop downs so they show up on the “log meeting” object or wherever is best for them to live?
At the moment, there is no such thing or option to create a custom meeting source field. This is something you would have to document in a contact property: Create and edit properties
It’s of course not 100% accurate as you might have multiple meetings per contact but currently there simply isn’t any other way. Custom meeting properties do not yet exist.
