3) Eliminates the need to manually update all users individually
4) See use cases below
Use case 1: In preparing for Go Live, we would like to mass Activate all the users that have been previously imported. If we had a spreadsheet, we could simply change deactivated to no, import the spreadsheet of over 300 users and mass activate them. If HubSpot can identify that a user account already exists for that email, why can’t it allow for updates in mass?
Use case 2: We would like a controlled access rollout. Therefore, when we mass activate users in Use Case 1, we DO NOT want a system message sent out because we do not want them in PROD before our Go Live date. We want to announce the access in a controlled release from a Corporate HQ email.
Use case 3: We have added regional “additional teams” to each user. We would like to mass update all users with their appropropriate “additional teams” via a spreadsheet import.
Use case 4: Users have set Two Factor Auth unnecessarily. As a Super Admin, I want to be able to revise this for users to reduce the number of steps upon system sign-in. We have the Okta app that we use as our security standard for secure system access. Therefore, 2FA is not necessary.
Very much an important topic for HubSpot as an enterprise-grade CRM! Updating users via imports is just as important for CRMs as updating contacts and/or customer and sales-related data.
Our requested scenarios: importing user accounts, so that users’ first and last names are updated via the import. To which team and/or secondary team does this user belong? To which user rights group does this user belong?
I came here to upvote this. HubSpot has declared its intention to treat Users as fully functioning CRM objects, as mentioned in the June 2024 product update, “Add data to users with custom user properties.” (see also Solved: HubSpot Community - Users List - HubSpot Community)
Given this direction, it’s crucial to have the ability to IMPORT data to Users, where Users are included among the listed Objects.
Working on an integration and I need to be able to populate a user id from the external system a pain to update without the import/bulk update capability.
this is not a want, this is a need in order to be able to successfully be able to managers users and how they interact with all the new workspaces / tools (Help Desk, Customer Success, Inbox, eti.) within HubSpot.
Adding more context to this request - we’re currently facing this same limitation in HubSpot where custom user properties (like Employee ID) can’t be updated in bulk. For us, this impacts ~400 users and creates a significant manual workload.
This is challenging when trying to align HubSpot with systems like SAP, where Employee ID is a key identifier. We’ve raised this with our CSM and understand this may be on the roadmap, but wanted to reinforce the need here.
Even a basic import tool or API endpoint for user property updates would make a big difference. Happy to share more detail on our use case if helpful.
Hello everyone- just wanted to make a quick post in that we just launchd User Import now supports updates to existing users in private beta today that will support bulk updates to existing users via CSV file. Would love to get your feedback on this.
