Bulk Import of Users with Permission Sets and Team Assignments

Currently, HubSpot allows for bulk user creation via CSV import by uploading email addresses. However, assigning permission sets and teams still requires manual work after the users are created.

For companies with global teams, this process becomes even more time-consuming. We have teams across Europe, North America, Asia, and Latin America, each requiring different permission sets and team structures. Manually assigning these settings after every new hire or organizational change is inefficient and prone to human error.

Proposed Solution:

  • Expand the current CSV import functionality to include columns for Permission Set and Team.
  • HubSpot would then automatically assign these attributes during the import process.
  • If a permission set or team name doesn’t match an existing one, an error message could prompt users to adjust their CSV.

We are facing a organisational restructuring which causes completly new Team strucutres, so I have to assign new Teams to the whole userbase - it’s a complete manual process where I have to change the assigned teams for every user manual - I’m getting insane.

@Susann_

If you have everything in a csv, including permission set name, I could just write a script that would bulk import and make the changes all at once. Let me know if i can help :slightly_smiling_face:

Did you figure this out, running into a similiar issue.

@AmandaBaker Is there a timeline for this enhancement request? We have to change main teams every month which is very time consuming and seems like something we should be able to update en mass via an import rather than manually changing for every relevant rep.

Hello everyone- just wanted to make a quick post that we moved this to private beta today. Our user import now supports user updates to update key user information in bulk, especially for existing users.
