Map & Sync in HS from Apollo

Hi everyone. I have been using Apollo for many years and I am happy to share as much information as I can to help others. I have a question about the one-way sync from Apollo to HubSpot. I know we can pull data from HubSpot into Apollo, enrich it, and then push the enriched data back to HubSpot. Is there any way to make this a one-way sync only in HubSpot side? From what I understand, Apollo only supports bi-directional syncing. I appreciate any insights or clarification.

Hi @Apollo_Xpert and welcome, we are delighted to have you on the HubSpot Community! :hugs:
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with Apollo and for your willingness to help others in the community, it’s truly appreciated!
I believe, this is the integration “Apollo Enrichment” you are referring to. Also, you want a one-way sync from Apollo to HubSpot. Please let me know if that’s not the case.
I’d love to put you in touch with our Top Experts and Community Members who also use Apollo: Hi @HubDoPete, @Umashankar and @sylvain_tirreau do you have any tips or insights to share with @Apollo_Xpert, please?
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much!

Thank you @BérangèreL! You’re right! Thats the integration. In Apollo, the integration works bi-directional. I asked to your bot and I received the response:

"To change your Apollo integration in HubSpot to only receive data from Apollo (one-way sync from Apollo to HubSpot), follow these steps according to the results of the documentation searches I made:

  1. In your HubSpot account, click the settings icon in the top navigation bar.
  2. In the left sidebar menu, go to Integrations > Connected Apps.
  3. Click on the Apollo app from your list of connected apps.
  4. Click Set up your sync if you haven’t already.
  5. On the “Select the data you want to sync” page, you’ll see options to choose the direction of data sync. Use the arrows dropdown menu to select one-way sync from Apollo to HubSpot.
  6. Continue setting up your field mappings, sync rules, and associations as needed.
  7. Review your settings and click Start your sync to activate the new direction.

This process will set the integration so that data only flows from Apollo into HubSpot, not the other way around, ensuring you only receive data from Apollo and no data is sent back to Apollo from HubSpot."
However, I couldn’t find that option. Is this available only for paid subscriptions?
Thanks in advance!

Hi @Apollo_Xpert, thank you so much for your message!

I noticed that this integration wasn’t developed by HubSpot, so the best next step would be to reach out directly to the Apollo Support Team at support@apollo.io.
They’ll be well equipped to assist you further.

Thanks again and have a great day!

Hi @Apollo_Xpert

Hey, the App you are using to move data is built by Apollo, so if you are already using it and then you can reach out to make the data unidirectional like you wanted. Alternatively, you can also use REST API provided by both platforms to connect and then can transfer data as per your requirement.

I hope this will help you out. Please mark it as Solution Accepted and upvote to help another Community member.

Thanks!

Hi @Apollo_Xpert , the confusion makes sense here. The wording in HubSpot’s UI suggests you can choose sync direction, but that only applies to native HubSpot-built apps. Apollo’s connector doesn’t expose a one-way toggle because their sync engine is designed to push updates both ways by default, and HubSpot can’t override that from the Connected Apps page (Manage your connected apps )

If you want a strict inbound flow into HubSpot, the usual workaround is to stop relying on Apollo’s automatic enrichment sync and instead let Apollo write data through its API while you disable any outbound mapping on the HubSpot side. That keeps HubSpot clean even though Apollo still “listens.”

Another light option is using a custom property flag in HubSpot so your workflows ignore any changes that originate from HubSpot itself. Do you only need contacts enriched, or are you also syncing companies?

When bi-directional behavior starts creating conflicts between enrichment and CRM edits, Stacksync keeps the source-of-truth fields aligned in real time so HubSpot only receives exactly what you intend.

Hi @RubenBurdin!

This helped a lot to clarify, I’m only syncing contacts.

I appreciate your help.

Kind Regards!
