We recently upgraded from free to starter. Our team is having issues with our template and lists.
1) We have created a template to send automated email. Where we have designated the hubspot personalized “first name” for the contact to appear in the mail unfortunately it is showing the full name and in some instances no name at all.
2) Despite moving some contacts to marketing contacts outside of one list the other contacts won’t appear. for example abc outreach mail template will allow us to pull from the list we designated abc list clients … but when trying to send the xyz template email for xyz list … it will say 0 of total will recieve this email and when I try to search names to see what the test email will look like it only shows me the abc list names as avilable to search.

For those users where this is occurring, have you double checked whether the first name field truly only contains the first name? With bad data quality, sometimes the first name field contains both the first and last name - in which case HubSpot has no chance but to display exactly what’s in there.
If no name is shown, please make sure that a first name is actually populated. If you have records where the first name is empty, you can click on the personalization token in the email editor and specify a default value, e.g. ‘there’ for first name, if you’re addressing recipients with ‘Hello [firstname]’.

If you have the GDPR settings enabled, have you made sure that all contacts are opted into the subscription type that you have chosen for your email? Manage your contacts' messaging subscriptions
