I imported a list from an excel spreadsheet into my CRM and Companies. If let’s say I had 300 companies listed and I was attempting to import 200 more this would create a combined list of 500. However, the 200 new imported has completely replaced the previous 300!!! I have looked in the recycle bin and my “300” are nowehere to be found. Months of data has completely disappeared which is an absolute disaster! How can I restore my data to before the import was attempted?
What data were you importing from the spreadsheet? Traditionally HubSpot doesn’t delete information when importing data, it would usually either create new data or update the previous company data based on the new data.
HubSpot uses Comapny Domain and/or Record ID as a unique identifier for when creating Company data it doesn’t duplicate or it can identify the company to update their information.
Unfortunately, as far as I know, HubSpot doesn’t store deleted imports in the recycle bin, so your data may not be recoverable directly through the platform.
Review the import history in HubSpot to see exactly what changes were made, which might help understand what went wrong.
Contact HubSpot Support explain the situation and ask if they can assist with a data rollback or restoration. HubSpot Support may be able to help if your account is eligible for data restoration.
To recover your lost data after the import, here are a few steps to consider:
Check Import History: Look for an import history feature in your CRM. It may provide details on what happened during the import and might allow you to revert the changes.
Contact Support: Reach out to your CRM’s support team. They can help you check if there’s a way to restore your previous data from their backups.
Look for Backups: If you’ve set up automatic backups for your CRM, see if you can restore from those.
Data Recovery Tools: Explore any built-in recovery tools your CRM offers that might help retrieve your lost information.
Taking these steps can help you recover your data effectively. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask!
