Hello -
I have a question regarding list numbers. I apologize in advance if it gets confusing.
I have a client that has multiple segmented lists and one main list he sends marketing emails to regularly.
He noticed when selecting all of the segments the estimated recipients number is smaller than when selecting just the main marketing list. All of the segmented lists are based on contacts in the main list in their respective filters (all are active lists - main list and segmented ones).
For example, the number when selecting all of the segmented lists, the estimated recipients # is 23,175. However, the number when selecting only the main marketing list the estimated recipients # is larger at 24,303.
He’s thinking that the number of estimated recipients should match regardless of whether he chooses all of the segmented lists or just the main marketing list.
I’m thinking that there are contacts that, for whatever reason, just don’t meet the filters on any of the segments therefore aren’t included (although he’s going to want to know why if this is the case). Plus, since they are all active lists, there’s going to be some fluidity there. I noticed those numbers aren’t static and fluctuate when I test out selecting the segments or only selecting the main list at different times.
If anyone can make any sense of what I’m trying to explain and provide any insights or pointers on where I should look into it further, it would be greatly appreciated!
TIA!
