I need to be able to use custom object tokens in the quote editor’s personalization picker. Or, configure a way around this. The legacy quote builder allowed those tokens. If anyone has answers to when/if this will become a reality or info around the subject this would be helpful.
Hi @DenaS
As per my knowledge and a similar case, what I tend to do in this situation is:
- Property sync field: pulls a value from the custom object property onto the standard object automatically, so it then shows up as a normal deal token in the quote picker: Create sync properties that copy data to associated records
- Rollup property: same setup, but for aggregating values across multiple associated custom object records instead of a single one: Create calculation and rollup properties
For information on if/when this will become natively available in the quote editor, the best place for these kinds of requests is the ideas section of the community, reviewed by the product team: https://community.hubspot.com/c/hubspot-ideas/59
Best Regards!

Hi @DenaS, I hope that you are well!
Thanks for reaching out to the HubSpot Community!
To add to what @muujeeb shared (thank you!), at the moment, you have two options for adding custom object data:
-
You can use a legacy quote template with HubL for direct access, or
-
You can create a custom quote module that programmatically pulls in your data through quoteTemplateContext.
I also found this similar topic that might help you: " Insert Personalization tokens in quotes - #4 by andreaska ".
For the new quote editor, as @muujeeb mentioned, for new feature suggestions, I’d recommend first to search and check if this idea is already present on our Ideas Forum here. If you find a similar idea, give it an upvote and share your unique use case in the comments.
If the idea doesn’t exist already, please consider posting and creating a new Idea on our Ideas Forum here.
Hi @Anton and @trevordjones can you think of another way to achieve this, please?
Thanks so much and have a lovely day!

Thanks. I was bit disappointed after purchasing Rev Hub and not being able to do the same functionality. I was avoiding creating another sync property as I’ve encountered errors with that functionality when needing data across more than 1 hub. This may be the best solution thus far. Again, thanks for the advice.
Legacy Quote Template - We purchased the Rev Hub, so there is more to offer in the newer process. I’m discovering more about the Hub changes. I’d prefer not to set up on older functionality.
Custom Quote Module - HubSpot always makes these seem like easy solutions. The HubSpot users expected more drag and drop from the new user experience. Ex. ‘Parties Module’ only allows for one buyer and one seller. Definitely a standard, which I understand.
I’ve found that I need to custom code 80% of a quote template. At the end of the day, the custom quote module is most likely my reality. As a Hubspot user of over 15 years, I know this tool can grow. I just didn’t want to spend time and money on functionality soon to come.
Thanks for your help.

Hi @DenaS, if the aim is a quote layout you control without custom coding the template, our app DocuGen builds that quote straight from the deal. You drop HubSpot fields into your layout with a double click in our template editor, and the deal, contact, company and line item data fill in on every quote. Reps generate it from the deal record or right from the pipeline, and the PDF saves to the deal’s attachments, so no one leaves HubSpot and no module code is needed.
Have a look at our HubSpot marketplace page.
P.S. The free plan covers 400 documents a month with no watermark, for unlimited users.
@SCaracand Thanks for sharing this option.
@Muujeeb I haven’t been getting notified of the community posts, so I’m playing some catch up on responses. As much as I like work-arounds, work-arounds typically have errors. The “sync properties” - Has resulted in many data errors for us, because I can not update based on primary company. In theory they work; however, associations are like post-its not true data connections. I’m currently auditing so many of these sync fields for corrections. I’ll keep an eye on the ideas. I’ll continue to work with Claude to HubSpot to fix my custom code needs and workflows to ensure data health.
@Berangere Why does the community always mark my questions solved when they are not? I’m growing an ache for this a resource. First you ask support.. They can’t help… You come here and there is such a pressure to mark solved and use AI. I’m venting in response to all my suggestions. I literally had one from 2017 with hundreds of comments and community person marked it solved. The functionality still does not exist.
@DenaS Sorry to hear.
I think this needs to start from how your data is supposed to flow: which company counts as primary, what should happen when it changes, and who owns the value. If that isn’t settled first, fixing one error tends to create another.
If you’d like, tell me how your objects are connected and where the values go wrong, and I’ll give my honest take, even if the answer is that a workaround isn’t the right call. No pressure either way.
@muujeeb Thanks for trying to help. It’s a bit tricky to explain. Best simplified version is we have custom objects for rates based on states, regions, and more. Potentially, could even be a custom agent. We want to be able to place the info in quote templates. I’m able to do this by building claude custom HubSpot quote modules, but I just wanted a simple way in HubSpot vs having to use claude to build the solution. Since posting, we’re now working with a direct HubSpot - Solutions Engineer to create.
On the ‘sync properties’, the industry is tricky as contacts can be associated to multiple companies but the companies differ in data. In some states, you need to be a real estate agent to even show property to rent. When some sync properties were created they were based on orginal company or newest company. Well, we just need the correct company aka primary company. I have this in ideas, but it is probably solved with no true solution.
