We have started using the Order object for our Shopify orders, and while it is miles better than Deals for our use case, we still miss a lot of functionality that was possible with Deals.
Issues we are currently facing:
- No order permissions management – Our sellers cannot assign themselves as owners of orders, which means an admin has to do it manually. This is inefficient.
- Missing order links in notifications – When a new order is placed, a notification is sent to Slack, but it does not include a link to the order in HubSpot. This worked with Deals.
- Orders are not searchable – Orders cannot be found using the main search bar, adding extra steps to locate them.
- No links to orders in reports – When creating order-based reports, the order numbers are displayed but are not hyperlinked.
- Orders missing from main navigation – Orders are not available in the main navigation menu on the left, making them harder to access.
We wish the Order object had some of the same functionalities as Deals. Without them, switching to Orders becomes more challenging. We chose to use Orders because it is a much tidier object than Deals and syncs products and prices more effectively, but we didn’t expect to lose this much functionality in the process.
Not being able to search for orders through the global search bar is a big hassle for my team, and reduces efficiency by adding extra steps to navigate to orders.
This is really important to me. As a business that heavily uses shopify foir ecom alongside a more traditional sales team, I need the Order object to have features close to the Deal object.
One thing I would especially welcome is the ability to use Orders in Single Object Reports.
Moving Shopify integration to map to orders and not having the same functionality has hampered us. I too would love to see orders in the main nav and have ability to grant permissions to edit them, mainly adding an owner.
Posting here to support this as we are seeing the same thing since we switched over to orders. Here’s our list must haves for Orders https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Order-Feature-Requests/idi-p/1155771#M212230. Not including it in the main navigation makes zero sense to me seeing as how every other custom object is. That alone would save us sooo much time.

This is a MAJOR problem and oversight with the new Shopify integration update. It broke Hubpost usage for our team. They can’t seach by Shopify order number anymore!!!

I wanted to share that one aspect of this request has been implemented; specifically, there are now permissions for viewing and editing Orders & Carts, so you have more control over who can see and make changes to orders.
