I’m trying to set up an automated confirmation email that sends when someone purchases through a specific payment link (for a webinar we’re running). The goal is simple: someone pays → they immediately receive a confirmation email with the webinar access link.
What I’ve tried:
- Searched for a “payment received” workflow trigger — it doesn’t appear, even on Enterprise with full admin access
- Found Payment > Amount paid as a property trigger, but that would fire for any payment across all payment links, not just this one
- Looked for a confirmation email setting directly on the payment link under Commerce > Payment Links — not seeing an obvious option there either
What I’m looking for:
A way to trigger an automated email specifically when someone pays via one particular payment link — not all payments. Ideally without needing Zapier or a third-party tool.
Setup:
- HubSpot Enterprise, super admin
- Using a HubSpot Payment Link for the webinar registration/purchase
- Commerce Hub enabled
Hey @MDePardo,
Thanks for posting in the Community!
In researching your use case, I came across this Community post, which seems to contain a couple of solutions to this inquiry! Can you please review and let us know what does, or does not, work for you?

Hi, thank you for those solutions. Unfortunately, we keep encountering an error with the workflow that Jnix284 provided on that thread. We copied the workflow, copied the payment link in, but nothing seems to be working. We tried having “referrer= payment link” in there as well, but it did not work either. After about 5-6 attempts with different test contacts throwing the same error we gave up.
Here is the workflow attached
Hey @MDePardo,
Thanks for following up with this context!

Hey @MDePardo, I’m sorry you’re running into issues with the workflow I previously suggested (prior to joining HubSpot) — unfortunately that solution was from over 2 years ago and I no longer have access to the account where I built it out and have no way to verify if it’s still working or if changes were made that would prevent it from working today.
Based on what is available today, I recommend asking Breeze Assistant to help you with building the workflow directly. The more clear you can be about your requirements, includng an example contact that should meet the criteria and why, it should be able to tell you what’s possible and even build it for you.
