Get Hubspotutk value via API

Hi,

So I am tring to see if there is a way to get the hubspotutk value from a contact record via the API?
I know I can look up a contact by the utk but have not found a way to look up a contact id/email to then get the utk as the return value.

Is that possible? if so please link me to the documentation.

Ps You should really enable for web activity to be able to post via API not just the cookie on the frontend. Man y clients are moving to server side tracking and they do not want to load libraries on the client side.

Thanks,

Hey, @SearchHub! Let’s add some voices to this thread — @tominal @RomanGruit do you have any insight for @SearchHub?

Thank you! — Jaycee

To add context:
- Trying to move fully server side, so NO Hubspot tracking code

- Obviously all GA etc is already 100% working so it would be great to be able t post pagviews to Hubspot via the api

I am trying to find a workaround given that, whyever that is, Hubspot does not see to have an api for the actual web activity.

Not sure there is any way to get around this limitation, so I thought about looking into the utk value, but also does not seem that enables being able to send pageview/session data etc into Hubspot.

Hubspot should really add that, until then seems all there is left is to just send in custom ids from Google Analytics into Hubspot and then get any (even high level data) from there instead of in hubspot

Unless I am misunderstanding, this post sounds like the answer to your question.

The HubSpot JS sounds like the way to go for their lead tracking.

The intent is to go 100% server side, so have anything server in first party context, e.g. Google Analytics servers from ga.owndomain.com vs from google.

The same would be the goal for Hubspot, but I do not see a server endpoint for website tracking, just contact/forms etc..

So unless there is an endpoint I assume there is no way to serve the JS via a server call and not directly in the frontend.

Sorry for the bump here, but the post this is linked to is exactly the opposite of the question being asked. The question here is can we *pull* the hubspot_utk from the contacts API when getting the contact from their email address for example. The other post is asking if they can push the hubspot_utk to HubSpot when creating a contact via the API.

Hi,

Did you get any further with this? We already have our ContactsAPI up and running and don’t want to use a hubspot form. Where you able to find a way to pass the hubspotutk (hutk) to the contact when you are creating them/updating them?
Thanks in advance
