Feature Request for Quote Approvals

Status: Idea Submitted

I was very excited to find out that approvals could be required on quotes before being published. I was very disappointed to learn that this feature is only available to commerce hub customers. We have sales hub professional users that use quotes on a near daily basis and it would be incredibly helpful to be able to require approval/review of quotes before publishing. As it is now, we often discover issues with quotes only after the customer has signed. In most cases it does not make sense to ask the customer to resign a quote, but the issues affect our backend processes. This could all be avoided if an approval was required and it doesn’t make any sense to me why this feature would be available for commerce hub users and not sales hub users.

Hi @Jennifer-DF,

I agree - there’s another discussion on that here: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/Account-Settings/Seat-based-pricing-model/td-p/1059965

I’d recommend that you provide this feedback to your account manager. On top of that, you can make a request to the product team in the ideas section of the community: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/idb-p/HubSpot_Ideas - it is however unlikely, I think, that HubSpot will reconsider here.

Best regards!

Hi @Jennifer-DF, our app DocuGen can generate the quote for you and send it for approval internally before it’s available to your customer. Here is how it works: you set up DocuGen to (1) generate the quote using your own template and pulling values from the HubSpot Quote record, and (2) send the quote PDF for approval by your internal approver (who doesn’t need to be a HubSpot user.) Once the quote PDF is approved, DocuGen can send it directly to your customer.

Have a look at our listing on the marketplace.

P.S. The free plan covers up to 400 documents a month with no watermark, for unlimited users.
