Enroll contacts in a sequence via workflows

Does anyone know of a way to enroll contacts in a sequence via workflow other than having the Entreprise Hub?
I’m looking for some add-on via the marketplace but can’t find anything that would work in the same way.

Hi @FelixLMR,

If you want to use HubSpot sequences natively with sequences behavior (including, for example, unenrollment criteria), then no, as far as I know this is not possible. This is an Enterprise-feature and I’m not aware of any ways to bypass this in a Professional subscription.

If other email tools are an option, then there are third-party integrations which offer options for automated email sending, Outfunnel could be one of them, for example.

Best regards!

Hey @FelixLMR

yes there are some tricks that can be done with the sequence automations, forms and lists.

You can also try with Zapier.

THere is also this other post (older) but still current with other alternative solutions.

Hope this helps

@Lucila-Andimol the thread you linked with my response from 2021 doesn’t contain any alternatives. Which alternatives / tricks are you referring to?

@karstenkoehler there are other users suggesting the use of Zapier and a chrome extension called CRM Automator. You might also want to check them out.

@Lucila-Andimol thank you for sharing. The provider doesn’t have a website / imprint / privacy policy / DPA, neither are they approved / listed on the HubSpot app marketplace. Personally, I wouldn’t trust my customer data with them.

Hi @karstenkoehler thanks for your reply.

We already use outbound tools for the SDR team but this would be to have the AE team automate some or their nurturing campaigns. I’ll see how we can accommodate the budget increase to get the Pro sub.

Hey @FelixLMR , I’ve recently launched an app called ‘Enrollem’ which allows you to enroll contacts into a sequence from workflows without the need for an Enterprise package, we’ve got a free version that gives you 50 automated enrollments per month. You can check it out here.

Hi @FelixLMR,
You’re right that native sequence enrollment via workflows is limited to Enterprise if you want to keep full “HubSpot-native” behavior.
That said, there are newer marketplace options that try to bridge this gap without requiring an Enterprise upgrade.
One example is FlowNer - it lets you enroll (and unenroll) contacts into sequences directly from workflows. You can trigger enrollment based on things like deal stage changes, lifecycle stage, form submissions, or any custom workflow logic.
A couple of practical notes based on how these tools typically work:
It uses workflow actions, so setup is pretty straightforward if you’re already using workflows
You can control sender selection (fixed user or dynamic owner-based)

It won’t fully replicate every native Enterprise-only behavior, but for most automation use cases (especially AE/SDR nurturing), it covers the main gap
If your use case is automating AE follow-ups or nurture sequences triggered by CRM activity, this kind of setup can be a solid alternative to upgrading plans.
Otherwise, as mentioned above, external tools (like email automation platforms) are still an option - but they come with tradeoffs around keeping everything inside HubSpot.
