Endpoint for OptOut

Hi,

We have three different subscriptions that users can subscribe to / unsubscribe from. But even if they unsubscribed from all of them, they are not “opted out”.
I found this endpoint https://legacydocs.hubspot.com/docs/methods/email/update_status to update the status, but is it possible to opt out an email in the new API (2026-03 API reference - HubSpot docs)

I am aware of /communication-preferences/v3/unsubscribe but it’s unsubscribing a single one but not doing opt_out

Hi, @BrianBrinch :waving_hand: To confirm, you are not missing an option. The first endpoint you linked to is the correct one for your goal. There is not a v3 version of this specific endpoint.

Additionally, I agree, the “legacy” designation is confusing at times. In this case, the Update email subscription status for an email address endpoint continues to be supported and is not flagged for deprecation.
