Shopify requires us, as the developer of the Shopify integration, to provide an End Recipient Data Acknowledgement Form when Shopify Merchant Data is transferred to an external platform such as HubSpot.
Our application, developed by Elden Software, allows Shopify merchants to synchronize their Shopify data with their HubSpot CRM account, including customers, orders, products, and other relevant merchant data.
Shopify therefore requires HubSpot to be identified as the End Recipient and to acknowledge Shopify’s API Terms and the requirement not to use Merchant Data to solicit merchants to leave Shopify.
We have attached the acknowledgement form for HubSpot’s review and signature:
Just to confirm my understanding: since HubSpot already has a separate agreement with Shopify and has agreed to Shopify’s API terms and conditions, does this mean that HubSpot does not need to sign a separate End Recipient Data Acknowledgement Form for our integration app?
@Berangere Shopify requires a signed agreement before approving my app. Do you have a solution to help me with this? I have already contacted them and have been waiting for days; I would really appreciate your help.
Hi @Ethan, I heard from the Team and that’s correct! Since HubSpot is already subject to the API terms, we believe it is unnecessary to sign the End Recipient Data Acknowledgment Form.
@Berangere I’m referring to the parts of your documentation that address compliance with data terms regarding my form—not Shopify’s own documentation. Can I freely quote that to convince them that a signature isn’t required? Please let me know if that works.
Yes, I can confirm that no signature is required. Regarding the link I shared, those are the right terms. Because we are a listed app on Shopify’s platform, we are subject to those terms.
I hope this helps!
Thanks and let us know if you have additional questions.
