Enable Single-Line Text Properties in Conditional Logic and Rollup Fields

Currently, it’s not possible to use single-line text properties within conditional logic or as the basis for rollup fields in custom objects. This limits the flexibility and granularity of data analysis and automation.

Specific Use Case: I need to create a rollup field in a custom object that calculates a value based on the content of a single-line text field.

This also applies to Deals/Line Items

We have products being synced from DealHub, and we have a Product Hierarchy.
e.g. Product Master → Product. Where the Product can only exist in one Product Master.

We push the Product Master back as a plain text field on each HS Line Item.

Sales wants to report on MRC Revenue per Product Master.

That means two issues,

1. That we need to be able to filter on two fields, Billing Frequency and Product Master.

2. (this idea) Filter on a plain text field (but we can get around this with absolutely butchering the Product Type field.)

Hitting the same issue here. I need to filter rollups by SKU, but that’s not supported since it’s a text property.

The workaround is to create a calculation property on the line item with an IF statement, then rollup that calculated property on the deal:

Line item calculation:

if([properties.sku] = “0.0.0.1”, [properties.number_of_users], 0)

Then rollup that on the deal level by summing the line items.

It works, but it’s unnecessarily complex for what should be a basic filter. Rollup properties really need to support text property filtering.
